Why are my iPhone photos HEIC?
iPhones save photos as HEIC because it’s about half the size of JPG at the same quality. But many Windows programs, websites and online forms still don’t accept it. Converting to JPG makes your photos work everywhere.
Most converters upload your photos to their servers. Here they’re converted inside your browser, so your pictures never leave your device, and the JPG copies don’t include location details.
Will my photos lose quality?
The default quality of 90% looks the same as the original. Raise it to 95% if you plan to edit or print the photos.
Why does the first photo take a moment?
The first time, your browser downloads the converter (about 3 MB). After that, photos convert quickly. Safari has it built in, so it’s instant there.
Can I make my iPhone save JPGs instead?
Yes. Go to Settings › Camera › Formats and choose Most Compatible. New photos will be saved as JPG.
