Getting a photo under 50 KB
50 KB is one of the most common limits for passport-size photos on exam, job and government application forms.
AcornDoc first lowers the JPG quality, which you rarely notice, and only shrinks the picture if that isn’t enough. At 50 KB a passport-size photo stays clear and sharp. A full phone photo is shrunk to around 600 to 900 pixels wide to fit.
Does it work with iPhone photos?
Yes. HEIC photos are converted to JPG while they’re compressed.
The form also has a minimum size. What do I do?
Type it in the first File size (KB) box. If the photo comes out smaller, AcornDoc adds empty space inside the JPG file to reach the minimum, without changing the picture.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. It’s compressed inside your browser, and the new copy doesn’t include location or camera details.
