Getting a photo under 200 KB
A 200 KB limit is common for profile pictures, photo ID uploads and images on forms that accept a full-size picture.
AcornDoc first lowers the JPG quality, which you rarely notice, and only shrinks the picture if that isn’t enough. At 200 KB, phone photos stay sharp at around 1200 to 1600 pixels wide, which is plenty for screens and forms.
Does it work with iPhone photos?
Yes. HEIC photos are converted to JPG while they’re compressed.
The form also has a minimum size. What do I do?
Type it in the first File size (KB) box. If the photo comes out smaller, AcornDoc adds empty space inside the JPG file to reach the minimum, without changing the picture.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. It’s compressed inside your browser, and the new copy doesn’t include location or camera details.
